Vusi Sidney Mahlasela Ka Zwane was born in Pretoria in 1965 and is a South African singer-songwriter working in what is usually called African folk.
Known simply as The Voice, his songs were an inspiration within the anti-apartheid movement, taking up the struggle for freedom and, afterwards, forgiveness and reconciliation with former enemies.
